Review AICC Working Drafts

In order to make learning technology specifications that are of high quality, it is important that as many potential consumers of such specifications review them as possible during the draft process. The AICC encourages anyone with an interest to comment on existing specifications and ones that are in development. While not all suggestions are incorporated, a very large number are used and discussed. Many comments collected from this website have greatly improved the quality of AICC specifications. If you see a project below that interests you, please contribute.

SDA - Simple Deployment Architecture
  • Defines LMS web services that will enable content servers to relay content tracking data to LMS systems.
  • Backward compatible with existing AICC & SCORM runtime communication standards for content.

Smart Graphics
  • Defines an interoperability specification that allows simulation user interface components (panels and displays) to be embedded in CBT presentations.
  • Provides mechanisms for the CBT presentation logic to manipluate the embedded "Smart Graphics" components.
  • Complements the "Simulation Interoperability" specification

Simulation Interoperability
  • Defines an interoperability specification that allows simulation models to be embedded in CBT presentations.
  • Provides mechanisms for the CBT presentation logic to manipluate the embedded simulation model components.

AICC Metadata
  • Defines metadata for searching, maintaining, and retrieving learning content from repositories.
  • Based on IEEE/LOM with AICC extensions

Offline CMI Specification (CMI009 & CMI013)
  • Defines an interface between typical online LMS systems and a disconnected (or "offline") LMS systems for nomadic users.
  • Allows 3rd party "offline" LMS vendors to interoperate with online LMS systems
