AICC Certifies Oracles
PeopleSoft
Enterprise Learning Management 9.0
New
test affirms Oracles longstanding
commitment to open standards and software
interoperability

The announced
today that Oracles PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning
Management (ELM 9.0) has been formally certified as
compliant with the AICCs Web-Based Computer Managed
Instruction Systems (CMI) Guideline (AGR-010). This
guideline allows AICC-conforming web-based learning
content and courseware to interoperate with
AICC-conforming LMS systems. AICC Guidelines are used
across multiple industries in addition to aviation
training.
ELM 9.0 was certified last week when an independent
testing lab determined its compliance for CMI guidelines.
ELM 9.0 also complies with the latest proposed
specifications of the Sharable Content Object Reference
Model (SCORM), the other major standard ensuring that
enterprise software is able to effectively and
meaningfully interoperate with e-Learning content.
Oracle is an active AICC member and a leader in the
learning industrys effort to standardize
communication between e-Learning content and enterprise
software applications.
PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning
Management 9.0 is a feature-rich release that directly
responds to customer requests for increased usability and

skilled and certified workforce. This certification of ELM 9.0 affirms our
commitment to the use of global standards for learning.
ELM 9.0s AICC certification is good news for
any industry that has to deliver training online,
said William A. McDonald, AICC CMI Subcommittee chair and
Learning Technology Architect at Alteon (Boeings
aviation training company). This clearly
demonstrates Oracles continued commitment to
providing courseware interoperability for its customers
and partners.
The AICC is an international association of
technology-based training professionals. While its
mission is to create open standards for computer-based
training in the aviation industry, AICC guidelines are
being used by software vendors across a variety of
industries, and are paving the way for the global
standardization of learning technologies.
Standards such as those set by the AICC and SCORM allow
courseware and learning management systems to convey
information and be integrated. They also give consumers a
level of confidence that the content and the learning
management system will work together to provide not just
learning material, but data that can be used to meet an
organizations strategic goals.
